You could use an HT or other radio to generate the other 15 or so frequencies you need to stop the search. Just key the ht on different frequencies long enough to get discovered

I have been using chirp with my ft-60r for 6 years with no problems other than the cumbersome FT-60r menu protocols. Just follow the directions to the letter and use the correct com port number.
