Battery woes
Have two ft60s. First for about ten years and original factory battery works great. Then couple weeks back, got distracted, set it on roof of car and drove off, never to be seen again. Sad

Re: Charging the FT-60 with the desktop cradle or is there another w
The BOTTOM LINE is that if you're not making it with 2W and an improved antenna, then you will probably not me making it with 4W TX power. It's all line-of-sight ops ... I regularly hit stations 3-600

Re: Charging the FT-60 with the desktop cradle or is there another w
BatteriesAmerica.com eliminators that I have purchased have always worked well. That would be my first option - definitely not the vast majority of eBay merchants.

Re: Charging the FT-60 with the desktop cradle or is there another w
My FT-60 is one of the "older" ones, and I have occasionally taken the battery off the back, and plugged the radio into the wall with the supplied charger cord. Jackson might not have that luxury if

Re: Charging the FT-60 with the desktop cradle or is there another w
I use just the 12V cord from Yaesu and hook on to a 12V supply
or Gel Cell Battery - I have used the Gel cells during long power
outages. I have 2 8AH batteries - runs the HT for days.

Re: Charging the FT-60 with the desktop cradle or is there another way?
Get a battery eliminator. You plug into a 12volt power supply. It does not use a battery. Check ebay.

Re: Charging the FT-60 with the desktop cradle or is there another way?
The instructions state do not leave in charger while turned on. One way is to get the replacement batt pack with cigarette lighter adapter then get a 12v wall adapter in the outlet.
