FT60 Clone Cable CT27

Is there anything special about the clone cable for this radio?
I have a 4 pole to 4 pole lead but the Tx radio shows "error" the Rx sits in "Rx" mode.
All I need to do is clone one FT60 to another, because manually entering is such a pain in time management!!!
They may be cheap to buy but... any ideas? CHIRP was not one of my desires to follow as this is a "one off" use.
Cheers, Mark.

life expectancy of HT in general

I've done some searching in this forum (and a few other places) and come up empty, so I thought I'd ask. Does this HT have general life expectancy? The reason I'm suspicious of my 20+ year old unit is due to battery life across a number of batteries, some of them new or <1 year old. I've tried both HRO and cheaper Amazon batteries, and they don't hold a charge well. My charging cradle shows a steady green light on all of them so I don't think it's the battery or the cradle. I haven't been on the air much due to work but when I am, battery life caves, even if I'm not transmitting. My Tx is on Low and the Power Saver feature is enabled. And when power is low, obviously Tx is negatively affected. I'd appreciate any guidance on this matter, including other investigations I might conduct to determine the problem. Thanks!

You should be using the NC-88B, 200 mA. The Yaesu model is 351202OO3CT

Hi Dave,
You need the 12v wall wart at least. I use the SBH-13 cradle. Needs 12v at 1amp!
There may be FT60s that will only charge on the cradle. There is also a fast charge cradle.

Re: Battery

I have tested the charger which reads 12V output.
I have tested the battery after being on the charger for 12 hours and it reads 7.2V
When I turn on the radio after the battery is fully charged it reads 7.2V
When I key the PTT I see the radio restart and the voltage dropping by 0.1V every time I key the PTT.
So, I am unclear if the battery is damaged or the radio.
Is there anything I else I can test?
This is a new radio, purchased in July 2024 with factory battery.

If you cannot get CHIRP to work, try using the FT-60 Commander. Software. You can find this program for free at KC8UNJ.com. Use the alternate write method.?

This way, you should be able to tell if it is a radio problem or software issue. ?

I did find this R.T. Systems tutorial but the enclosed, from their PDF. See Page 80 in the link below. The snip below makes no sense to me...
?
?
"Now that you have pressed and held the [BAND] key until NOBANK appears,
you must keep moving. The radio will exit that mode rather quickly. No
problem... just press and hold the [BAND] key again. Turn the KNOB on top
to select the bank you want to use. Banks with a number that does not blink
contain channels. A blinking number indicates an empty bank that cannot be
selected. Once you find the one you want, press the [V/M] key to save the
selection. If you want to be sure your selection was saved, press the [V/M]
key to go to VFO mode then again to return to memory mode. When you
return to memory mode the radio will display Bank # indicating the working
bank.
So, that is a lot to sort through. Briefly, your key presses are...
[BAND] (press and hold)
Turn KNOB to select the bank you want.
Press [V/M] to save
The radio will now operate as if it is programmed with only the channels in that memory
bank"
?
?
"A blinking number indicates an empty bank that cannot be selected."
?
ALL MY BANKS BLINK! So I can't use any of them? I just did a factory reset!
?
How can they be unusable if I just did a factory reset? How can a bank be "empty" and be unusable??
