LORNA,

There is no cost and very little effort to join this group. You can set the options for what you get--I use the daily "digest" which gives a brief intro to the messages posted within the past day.

You can read those you like; comment or reply or not; do nothing, a little, or all. But what you get is really worth it--lots of good info about the radio: Questions, answers, tips and hints, etc. Most of the members "lurk" here and you seldom hear from them unless they have something useful to post.

There are also lots of useful files available, including tip sheets about using the radio.

Incidentally, the two models are FT-60R (nominally, the "US version") and FT-60E (the "European version"). Basically, each has its transmit?specifications tailored for that part of the world. Otherwise, they are essentially the same. "FT-60" is often used as a nickname for one, the other, or both since most questions and replies can easily apply to both.
