Hi all,,
Working on a very nice 101e, unfortunatly , R40 is burnt to a crisp, does any one have ny idea what the cause may be , meter tells me there is a dead short on the output side , 300 volts is on the input . Brian. VK4 PX.

Check C109 connected to R40 nearby for possible short.

Thx Nestor ,
Turns out it was c11 dead short, burning out r40.
I am presently working on another 101 , the first one is a 101b, the one I am working on now is a 101e, and I am having problems as the regulator board is not the same as the schematics I have , the 6 volt rail on the VFO is not lighting a 6 volt rail, and falls to o volts on transmit,,the regulator is a pb 1547 or similar number, but different to the 101 b .
Is it possible to,obtain a circuit of this model ,with the different regulator, 101e, there must have been differences in these as they came out , and hard to repair without a circuit, I was trying to see which PIN number is feeding the 6 volt output,,and where does the voltage for this rail, come from, I see 13 .5 volts on I think pin 12 , but there must be a problem some where as no power in the 6 volt rail, it,lites the led and that¡¯s about all, the PNP transistor checks out ok , and seems to,feed into an ic,but with out a circuit im at a loss to know what¡¯s going on, if you have any info ide like to hear back from you.Brian .VK4PX.
