Re: Antenna - need some advice please
Consider a loop antenna from Mini Kits in Australia.
https://www.minikits.com.au/EME234-HF-Active-Loop
They are low noise, reasonable in cost and work well. Some soldering required.
Good luck

Re: Dial Triangles
I did mine a few years ago and dont remember it completely. you only need to make the adjustment if the Mhz is off. my radio was off by 1 Mhz, i had to set the Mhz dial either 1 Mhz higher or lower

Re: Missing Q408 & T406: replacement candidate suggestions?
Well, this turned out to be quite a bigger job than anticipated.

Re: Missing Q408 & T406: replacement candidate suggestions?
Hi Jason,
That's good timing! I was just looking at that pdf (Files Folder #7 -? FRG-7 BFO Mod.pdf) and was about to suggest that was possibly what the previous owner was going to do.
There have

Re: Missing Q408 & T406: replacement candidate suggestions?
Hi Roger,
Thanks for the speedy reply!
On closer examination, the original owner has done the ceramic resonator BFO mod and located the BFO on the underside chassis in it's own little shielded box,

Missing Q408 & T406: replacement candidate suggestions?
Hi all,
Picked up a FRG-7 as part of an auction lot, and it's in need of a pretty heavy restoration - both cosmetically and circuit operation wise.
