The main dial light bulbs are burned up, the rubber is falling apart and I know that getting these light bulbs is getting harder by the years (some local stores ask $4+ for them).

I took the hood of my FRG7 and the values I measured are :
Unlocked (led on) = 1.9V
Locked (led off) =? 0.29V
But have to say that I have modified my FRG7 with this a bicolor led mod, see :?

I agree with Phil. Transistor based radios operating on low DC voltage rarely have capacitor problems. The higher the voltage the more likely you are to have capacitor problems. It doesn't hurt to
