I purchased a used FT-530 because I heard it was an excellent full duplex HT for satellite work.?
However, in trying it out on a local repeater I can’t get the repeater to open. Only the first five digits shown on the radio display in spite of the manual showing a full 6 digit frequency display when manually entered. The PL tone and offset are correctly entered ?
It works for simplex use albeit at very short range and shows relative power on transmit.?
I drove right up to the repeater location and still could not hit the repeater. The radio has a “Miracle Baby CH-32 comet” antenna on it.?
Any thoughts on what the problem might be? ?Should I see the full six digit frequency on the display?
