Battery eliminator or clamshell for Yaesue FT-65R?

I thought the power cord could plug into the radio directly, but not sure it operates while “charging”.? The manual should know… By “clamshell” do you mean a watertight enclosure? Lynne KR4BMV All Messages By This Member #298 My question in this piece of equipment is does Yaesu make an OEM version, and if not, has anyone successfully used an aftermarket version, or is it not advisable? ? . It enables you to use your HT with regular alkaline or Lithium ion AAA batteries. Intention is for battery availability with extended time in the backcountry. Again, question is does Yaesu make something like this for the FT-65R, and if not, has anyone successfully used an aftermarket option? ? Thank you for reading!? ? ?
