What LAN DR5000 Protocol to control DR5000 over Network

Hello,

I am currently using the WiThrottle Protocol on my DR5000, but I cannot seem to connect over the network to the Digikeijs app.

What DR5000 Protocol do I need to use for "Connnect via Network"

Well....?

I am currently using the WiThrottle Protocol on my DR5000,

Seems to me, that that is impossible, since the DR5000 does not have WiThrottle natively.

What DR5000 Protocol do I need to use for "Connnect via Network"

DR.Command

And then we hit THE BIG DR5000 problem. It can only run 1 protocol at any time. That's why we backported our YD9401 into the DR5000 ( to become an YD7001 )?

The YD9401 can handle 6 protocols at the same time. a.o. WiThrottle Native, LocoNet, Lenz, Z21 and YD.Command.

Greets,

Karst

Heath,

When using the WiThrottle Protocol you can't also run the DR5000 App wirelessly which requires the DR Command.? It would need to be connected via USB since like Karst said, only 1 protocol at a time.

For those wondering, Heath has a beta version of the DR5000 app which has the WiThrottle server built in.

Would I be correct in assuming that the beta version of the DR5000 app that Heath has came from Digikeijs, and with their bankruptcy it is effectively dead?

Thanks.

Jay,

Yes, it was a test version that never quite made it across the finish line.? It has a couple of glitches in it.? Ex. F2 is latching.

Our demo at the NMRA convention last year had two DR5000's both running TCS throttles straight to them without JMRI or LNWI.

I don't expect to see a completed version at this point unless someone else completes it.

Thank Ryan, I noticed the F2 latching, I just thought I had a configuration issue.

Karst, I am very excited to try out the multi LAN/WiFi protocols when the upgrade arrives stateside.

There's also some missing functionality in the DR5000's handling of F2 (not related to the beta version) in that when a DT400 throttle is set up to use a quillable whistle, it causes the DR5000 to go haywire. It's an obscure feature on Digitrax systems and the original Tsunami decoders.

Hi Heath,

I am wondering if it would be possible to share a file of the beta version that allows WiThrottle protocol for the DR5000, with an acknowledgment of the included bugs...! Particularly since Digikeijs are now no longer. I did sign up for the beta program shortly after the beta version you have was released, but saw nothing from it.

Thanks!

I think, now that DK is bankrupt, there would be no problem. But as I understood from some Beta testers, DK made them make sign an NDA...?

?

However, why should one one such a "hybrid", ugly solution. Once you already have a PC, why not use the proven JMRI WiThrottle server instead.

?

I guess, you might want to be looking for hardware solutions with Bbuilt-in WiThrottle like our (YaMoRC) YD9401 or Uhlenbrock's?63860 LocoNet-USB und Wlan Interface.
