Dr Script - Loco Number

Has anyone look at loading the Loco Number for a DR5588RC? I’m not sure if it’s even possible.
Cheers

Hi. I'm not sure if your question was specifically related to obtaining a loco number using 'Dr Script' but I did some testing last year with a DR5088RC connected via a DR5000 to JMRI and was able to identify a loco's address as it passed through occupancy blocks using a JMRI script. The decoder fitted to the loco needs to be Railcom-compatible. I used a Zimo MX644D in my testing.

Good morning Ian, with a lot of help from Dennis I’ve got that working. My query was poorly written. What I would like to know: Is it possible to read a Loco Number using a DR5088RC then pass that variable across to a DrScript to control that loco. For example stop a train in hidden staging.

Thanks?
Cheers?

Hi George, I'm sorry, I can't help you with Dr Script. I have been interested in exploring its capabilities myself but always found the Dr Script documentation a little lacking. I think a few code examples of actual scripts could be a really useful addition to the current Dr Script manual.
