Iain:? I will trust you, but how then do drop feeders get connected to the DR4088 using this methodology?? Does each track feeder (from each separate block) get inserted into the same connections occupied by the resistor in each of 1-8 and 9-16?

Thanks again, Don

You are correct, you only need the resistors on the feedbacks that have the phantom occupation, however it will not cause any issues if you place them on the other feedbacks. Many people find that if one feedback is affected then several are affected and they just adopt the fix them all whether needed or not attitude.

Hi Iain,

?

I think it is correct that you don¡¯t ¡®need¡¯ to resistor all the feedbacks ?

I¡¯ve just had to fit a resistor to one feedback on one of my DR4088s - the rest are OK ??

Alastair

I repeat, the wires in Ryan¡¯s picture are NOT connected from the 1-8 terminals to the C terminals - one end of the resistor goes into the 1-8 and the other into the C terminal.

Just do what is build what is shown in the picture and connect your layout as normal - it will work.

Iain: I appreciate all the advice, thanks for helping me.

Still confusing to me, all of the wires from 1-8 or 9-16 are soldered to the 'C' in Ryan's photographs, all are shown to be tied (soldered) together through that single wire going to 'C' in the photograph.? There is no isolation/separation I can see in the way these are soldered together, alas (I am so confused) how then do drop-wires attach to separately to each of 1-8, 9-16 (I can't understand how this is done given what I see in the photograph?? Does a second wire (direct from each layout detection block) get inserted in each of the connections 1-8 and 9-16?

Iain:? Thank you very much again for your patience and guidance, you helped so much!? Hopefully this dialogue was (will be) of help to others.? You made my day and I am so relieved I understand this process with your superb information!

FYI, I wired up my 4088CS units and just got to testing them last night and everything worked exactly as planned.

If anyone is interested I could send photos later today of the wiring.

Thanks Dennis, still testing, but so far it is working as planned.

Karst, are you suggesting that the?YD6016xx-CS units do not suffer the same potential issue that the Digikeijs 4088 have?

Paul

Yes,

?

We have provided for a fixed input filter with an additional, adjustable, digital filter.

?

Customers report the complete absence of "ghosts" after swapping a happily "ghosting" DR4088 with an YD6016 ?

?

Greets,

Karst

Heath: thanks for sharing!!
