DR4018 misbehaving after connection to iTrain

[email protected] All Messages By This Member #4546 I have two DR 4018s with separate power supplies connected to my Yamorc-updated DR5000. The second of these has two signals (CV47 =1) and two MP1s. They have been working perfectly under Rocrail. I have been trialling iTrain and as soon as I connected it to the system using LoconetTCP/IP via an ethernet cable, one of the 4018s went berserk, switching the MP1s back and forth constantly. I managed to reset it using JMRI to program it, although the signals didn't work properly. I reconnected to iTrain and the same thing happened. I've since been unable to reprogram the 4018 correctly with the previous settings. I was able to reset the address of it but that's about it. The first 4018 is totally unaffected and also has some MP1s attached. Could the second 4018 be faulty? ? ?

The second DR4018 was primarily for 2 & 3 aspect signals (IDs 1-5 so) with 2 MP1s on IDs 13-16 and worked perfectly with CV47=1 and CVs 125-8 set to 11 prior to connecting to iTrain. So two questions: Why should iTrain send it into a tailspin? If I set the CV47=6, what settings do I need for the signals?
Iain Morrison All Messages By This Member #4549 iTrain is not sending anything into a tailspin as it is merely sending a DCC accessory command to tell the accessory to change state. Unfortunately I cannot check any settings in the iTrain TCDZ here and suggest that you post the question with the TCDZ on the iTrain forum where I will be able to check that file. Dennis Cherry may be able to tell you the CVs you need to change to have some outputs for MP1 motors and others for 2 aspect signals. I can no longer remember the settings required. He wanted a couple of outputs set for MP1 motors (CV47=6) and the remainder set for 2 aspect signals (CV47=1), I think it was the last 2 outputs for the MP1 and the first 6 for signals. ? This is precisely the settings I had. It appears that iTrain doesn't like the CV47=1 on my system as the act of connecting sent the MP1s into constant switching and the signals failing to work. Setting the Cv47=6 seems to work for the MP1s but at the expense of my 3 aspect signal not working.
