Servo Controller Alternatives

I am looking for some additional servo controllers with frog polarity control. I have been using DR4024 units with DR4102s on the frogs. I am considering megapoints system 2 as an alternative but just wondering what other people were switching to?

Morning,

I use the prima which works a treat. To switch polarity I just have a frog gauge master auto frogs under each one but prima is a very good value for money controller and simple to program as well.

Regards,
Nathan

Thanks for your reply, I do t know Prima but guess it¡¯s a complete control system. I should have said I am using DR5000 with Itrain for control. I am just looking for additional point/frog control using the Loconet.?

I am also looking into the system2 items as I am planning to use MQTT (instead of LCC) on my next layout.

Have you been able to reach anyone at Megapoints? I don¡¯t think they have a U.S. distributer, so shipping is very expensive. I want to see if they have any options to lower shipping.

Hello,

It is in fact both, I¡¯m running mine off a DR5000 as well via the DCC input and you just assign it an address as you do with a digikeijs switch unit.

The other way you can use it is via toggle switches.

Nathan

I use Arcomora and IoTT - ?driven by two people who are so passionate about the hobby and are willing to share their expertise.

i Chose to put together the arcomora myself and it turned out to be an excellent project to improve my soldering. ?Works flawlessly with some off the shelf relays controlling a point and frog - far quieter than all the other points controlled by DCC concepts digital iP - wouldn¡¯t buy those again.
With IoTT I plan to build a green hat which has impressive capabilities controlling servos, Hans Tanner is so innovative, his products are far beyond anything I know of commercially available. ?I had fun recently, speed profiling my entire Loco fleet with Purple Hat.
Megapoint. Controllers is an impressive setup, clearly driven by love and passion which is to be applauded. ?However you have to buy in to his system- quite understandably- and I prefer something more open source¡

I am looking at the Arcomora and IOTT products for another model railroad project.

Have a DCCNext kit module, Loconet module and loaded? Mardec on on a Arduino Uno and converted Nano to a Uno.

Hi, not sure about in the US but here in the UK MegaPoints respond very quickly to emails and are always helpful. The responses come from info@....?

Hi all,

Another company well worth checking out is the Swedish company MGP?

They have a very nice 'Servo5' servo controller board, very well priced and Loconet compatible. Programmable via a bluetooth module and an Android phone app, deals with frog polarity also with on-board relays.

MGP produce a range of Loconet compatible (and properly licensed) products, which is great for use with either a DR5000 or the future YAMORC command station. We've been using them for a few years now at our N Scale club here in Sydney Australia.

Thanks!
