Sept. 21 and 22, Sat. and Sun., K9 Medic, a group highly experienced in teaching advanced, hands-on canine emergency treatment, will
come to Yuba county, and will teach two, 8-hr stand-alone classes.
Check their website,?? We will be doing the experiential level, which should include sub-cutaneous fluid injection for dehydration, first treatment of bloat by needle puncture of the stomach, rattlesnake bite, wasp/bee stings. We will do canine exertion curves in class.
Before this advanced class, Jo-Anne Brenner HIGHLY RECOMMENDS doing the online introductory class prior to this hands-on one. You will take the vital signs of your own dog and do other skills that will prepare you for the advanced class later in the summer. I believe it costs around $125.
The cost of the advanced class is somewhere between $250 - $395. I have spoken with Joann and there are several things we are trying to bring down the cost. I will keep you all updated.
This is very exciting, as K9 Medic hasn't been up in northern Calif. much. Let's have a good turnout.
Best,
Carol Shapiro
