Hope this finds you well. As the year draws to an end I thought I should put out a post to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I am aware there have been a few of us on the 'not so well' list so I do hope you are on the mend. Anyway I hope that Santa brings all you desire and you all have a great day and that 2023 is a safe happy and prosperous year.
The next local (Riverina) get together will be in February so keep an eye out for those emails.

Hi All, ? I hope this finds you well and you have managed to dodge the covid bullet. ? Well by now I am sure you will have all heard the 2022 event is now off until 2023. All payments through Eventbrite will be globally refunded -I don’t think you have to do anything. Which I guess brings us to what we want to do next year. I think for sure (assuming all is well) that I will be going to the 2023 event and I guess it remains to be seen whether we want to also have our own get together. We can of course discuss closer to that time …although the time flew between kicking off organising for this year – where does time go these days? J. But I digress. So, 2024 would be our next milestone reunion and hence why I was asking the question re next year. I am all for though catching up whenever we can…after all none of us are getting any younger J. Anyway – stay tuned and we can start discussing this later in the year. ? A big welcome too to the guys that have come across to the groups.io list in the last few months. There aren’t many of our group left now ?to come across and we now have 42 of us on the main list. I am also pretty sure that there shouldn’t be anyone getting emails twice from me when I do a bulk email to both lists so I think I have managed to clean all that up. I still have a few on that 2nd list whom I have to contact to try to bring them over – a work in progress. ? Given that a lot of restrictions have been lifted regarding Covid, it’s probably time for another local get together and I will look at doing that shortly. ? Below is the email I received from John Morris which no doubt most of you will have also received the same. He also gave me a phone call to see if I could drum up some business within the group and encourage people to make a donation – big or small to the Foundation. Hello fellow Yanconians? ? Whilst the Reunion Dinner to celebrate the centenary of the school has been postponed to Friday 10th March 2023, the work of the Foundation goes on. It's a busy time building the Foundation as well.? Th e Yanconians' Foundation website went LIVE on 7th January 2022 with a Founding Donors appeal (Click below) to build the resources needed for the foundation's fundraising aspirations.? The initial response by Yanconians has been encouraging; we now need the support of as many further alumni as possible.? We understand every circumstance is different. I am asking each of you to consider investing in the Foundation through a large or small donation, whichever is possible under your own circumstances.? We need to show the sch ool community and our sponsorship programs, that there is a commitment by most of us.? We estimate there are about 3,000 of us Yanconians which is a small base for a Foundation. We will always need business and corporate sponsorship.? A Foundation Position Statement (Click below) has been prepared to show where we have come from in the last 9 months and our plans, already well underway, for the next 18 months.? We have a range of smaller projects in hand. ?The Foundation Board is formulating several larger pro jects in conjunction with the OYU, with a view to attracting a cohort of corporate sponsors.? Grahame M advised me this afternoon that Gala Day has been cancelled for Term 1 and just then I received a text from John Morris saying that it was likely the Friday event was also likely to be canned and the attached email that arrived minutes ago seems to indicate that. ? I propose that our Thursday night gathering should now also be postponed to a date to be advised. Hopefully a possible date will be coming through in the next few days – once I know that I will be in contact again so we can alter all our accommodation bookings for the Thursday and Friday. ? Oh – and yes all OK so far Covid wise. Seems we’re casual contacts of my youngest daughter who was possibly a close contact of her partner’s bro in-law. That was Wednesday of last week and no signs here at all. Three others that were also in contact have all tested –ve via PCR testing. So touch wood – all is well here and hope it remains that way. ? Also sent out an email to the guys not on this list to try to get them over here but to date - nothing. Thursday 10th March Dinner at Hydro
Hi All,
So far I have 26 for ourThursday night dinner. They are: Pete & Pauline Fraser, Al Wetten, Angus, Bill Moncrief and Joyce, Graemen and Lyn Foley, Joihn Irwin, John Fowler, Dave and Leonie Stott, Mark & Deb Briggs, Don Dyce & Sally, Doug Williams, Col & RObyn Smeeth, Chris Davis, Col Semmler, Dave Sanderson, John & Lyn Hartnett and Neil Crawford.
Have I missed anyone? There are a few that I have not heard from that are usual attendees so if you are in touch with others can get them to let me know please as I have to inform Anthony at the Hydro by mid Feb for our expected numbers.
Of course any accommodation bookings are up to everyone to find something - just what's left of the rooms I put aside at the Hydro and the Riverina I am unsure. I also put aside a few at the Kidman in Griffith but suspect they are too now gone.

Hi John Happy New Year Nearly organised after the Festive dramas, including a near miss with covid infection. Please count me in for Thursday evening at the Hydro on the 10th. Do we book with Anthony? or are you organising that? Also do you know if there are any travel arrangements form Griffith back to Leeton on Friday night?( My Ticket is booked for the Yoogali club.) Lee has decided to let me go on my own so she will not be looking for meals or entertainment. and enjoyed over many years.

With just under 12 hours to go I just want to take the opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe, happy and prosperous 2022 - surely it has to be a better year :0).

On the Friday night (OYU Reunion), I have Joyce interested in a separate partner dinner, Lyn who is going to Yoogali Club but would change if enough and Leonie going to Yoogali Club. Also Pauline is going to Yoogalic Club anyway as she is also an ex employee of the school. Col did indicate he was happy to organise a venue if there were enough not going to the Yoogali Club. So have a think about it and get back to me.
I have now lost contact with Les Fyfe, Steve Aughey and Alan Charles - so if anyone has any updated details for them please let me know. Also sent out an email to the guys not on this list to try to get them over here but to date - nothing. Down below is the list who aren't on this list - have a look see and if you are in contact with any of them and can you try and encourage them to contact me to add them here please? Ta.
Finally, looking at a local get together in either the first week of Jan or the second with the venue being at Narrandera ...get back to me if you want to go to that too. Emails for that currently go out to a local group I have set up...if you want to be added to that group as well? - let me know.
