Sprott ETF Tickers
2
I am using EODHD data. When I attempt to use the tickers SRUUR or UNRJ, xlq returns #N/A. All my other EODHD tickers are working fine. EODHD support confirms that both tickers are in their database. Please advise. Thanks, Jens

Seeing Option Prices for the same strike across multiple dates
6
Hello, I am working on building a spreadsheet that will show me a table of option prices for a given contract over multiple dates. Suppose for example I want to see the price of a $420 call on MSFT for the next 90 days. I’m thinking my ticker symbol, strike price, number of days and call/put would be input. Then a table of dates and prices would show the pricing one date per row. I’m using Schwab as my data source. Has anyone previously constructed such a sheet or have any pointers. I’m looking at how the current option examples have been created and I want something similar to the traditional option chain I guess but where the date is what is changing, not the strike price. Thank you for any pointers. Kelly

XLQ xlqxhiSMA help
3
Hi, Leo & group. I'm having problems trying to get xlqxhiSMA to work with streaming data from Schwab. It might be an issue of my misunderstanding whether Schwab support this of not for the current day. My desire is to use an intra day simple moving average which spans multiple days of regular only market hours. For example a 5 day moving average for an intraday chart (65 periods for 30 minute bars or 390 periods for 5 minute bars). The historical intraday formula I'm using works fine for previous days but not for the current trading session. In my XLQ documentations searches, I only see the XLQ customizable SMA on the historical intraday docs but not in the intraday docs. This is for both the XLQdemo spreadsheet and the website docs. This works fine for previous day data: '=xlqxhiSMA(A6,-1,-1,30,0,65,"schwab") But trying it for streaming data just returns the error "#xlq". '=xlqxhiSMA(A6,0,-1,30,0,65,"schwab") The docs say: '=xlqxhiSMA("Symbol","Date","Time", "Interval", "Option", "No of Periods","Source") Under "Option" I'm trying to use zero: 'For streaming sources it is also possible to use a date of 0 for the current day with continued realtime updates. Using date of 0 and -1 for time would always return the last bar for the chosen interval as it completes. Any help to point me in the right direction or to explain my misunderstanding would be much appreciated. If possible I'd like to get this to work for both live and historical data. Thank you! Tom

Schwab baby bonds dividends all 0
3
It appears that Schwab now reports 0 for dividends (all related formulae) for baby bonds. I don't see anything else that would work. Obviously it is easy enough to compute but having the yield come from the symbol removes one more source of human error. Is there a way to get the yield other than manually entering in the rate and issue price?

Excel painfully slow
3
I'm pretty sure this isn't an XLQ issue but I've checked some online forums and there so far isn't a good answer. I see the question has been asked by a few others but so far there's no solution. Microsoft support seems slow to figure this out. At some point this month Excel got updated by Microsoft and now certain actions, like inserting rows (which I have to do all the time for each new transaction), copying and pasting text that may include references to other cells or rows or columns, and even changing formatting can take seemingly forever. Excel pauses for a long time, then if I even try to move the cursors via the arrow keys Excel fades out until it's finished. Excel CPU time doesn't skyrocket, but it does go from a few percent to 16% or higher, so it's not gobbling CPU time. XLQ doesn't appear to be any slower, either. I even uninstalled XLQ and all of Office and downloaded everything new and installed it again. No change. I use the binary Excel file format. I may try the default format to see if there's a difference. Has anyone else experienced this issue and, more importantly, figured out how to fix it? FYI, I had a form of this problem some time ago, but it wasn't this slow. Then at some point I stopped having this problem. Now it has returned and it's worse than it was originally. Any advice would be appreciated. Mark Pittman

XLQ Calculations
3
On May 15, 2024 I upgraded to XLQ2 and then switched to Schwab, however I have been having troubles with my spreadsheets since. Some Excel stock calculations have worked and others have not at all. For instance, the XLQDemo.xlsx does not work at all. When I insert my data source “schwab”, all I get for results of the calculations is “#XLQ2”. In previously working sheets, I get some stocks working but most show “#NA” or “#VALUE!” Am I missing a setting somewhere? Also, I keep having to sign in to Schwab every week, is this normal?

EXCEL CELLS NOT UDATING
2
I am running Excel 2010 and until recently was all ok. Recently some of the cells are not updating to current information. If I click on cell and make a space, hit return, the cell updates and seems to update properly from then on. My question is: Is my version of Excel to old, I have not updated to the newer versions because this runs on Parallels and has worked well in past. Any suggestions? Chuck -- Charles J. Incorrect Date
3
Hello, When I use -1 to pull up yesterday's date using xlqhdate function, I get Aug 29. It has been stuck at Aug 29 for a few days. I can pull up stock data for yesterday if I manually write yesterday's date. I have the same problem using both Norgate and Yahoo. Anyone have any idea why this might be happening. Thanks in advance.

Hardware upgrade - best for XLQ
7
I use XLQ heavily for historical data, primarily with Norgate Data. It’s a great tool. I’m looking to upgrade my machine and want to take into consideration what XLQ needs to operate at peak efficiency. I sometimes handle 2500-3000 stocks at a time looking back 20 years, and XLQ (or perhaps it’s Excel) can get sluggish or hang up during the fetch process. If I want to optimize for best machine for XLQ, do I only need to consider CPU? Is it just a case of ‘bigger is better’ and I should get a new Intel Core i-9 machine? Or is there a particular combination of hardware that would make it work best? I currently have an Intel i7-12700H which is a very good machine, but if anyone has any experience getting great performance out of XLQ/Norgate, I’d love to hear it. Thanks in advance.

Option Chains on Shcwab
Hello, Wondering if anybody has had the opportunity to use the Option Chains functionality that Leo introduced for Schwab in 24.41. I have a couple of questions and would appreciate any guidance: Is it supported by xlq2Lite? Does it work with Excel (or only the Companion)? I have looked for a few minutes but am unable to locate the help page to understand how to use the functionality - I would appreciate any guidance on that. Many thanks in advance and appreciate any guidance! AB

XLQ data refresh while running macros
4
Leo, XLQ experts, I've started acquiring historical data via the method example shown in "XLQDemo", "Stock Overview" tab. I've noticed the data doesn't refresh while a vba macro is running. Is there a way to allow refresh while macros run? Thanks Bob Lilly

Schwab Authorization
3
Not sure what's going on. When I go to authorize Schwab the window opens and displays { "error": "invalid_request", "error_description": "Bad Request" } I've uninstalled XLQ and Opera, which once in a while conflicts. I've opened up Edge and it's working fine. I installed 24.41 and also 24.3. Re-entered my registration (successfully) and then gone to establish Schwab credentials and this error comes up. I've obviously restarted the PC many times after uninstallation, installation, entering XLQ credentials, etc. Not sure what's happening. If it's a PC problem, Schwab problem or XLQ problem. Mark Pittman Below is a window capture.

Dividend Date and amount - array formula
6
Is there a way to construct an array formula, using Schwab or Tiingo or FMP as the source, to download dividend dates and amount from a starting date to the current date. Since Yahoo data is going the way of Dodo bird, I would like to get an alternate way to download dividend data. Thanks Harry
