I have made my X-Air with a extra wide entry as I'm in a wheelchair and needed more room to get my legs in..
we also made a new windscreen that was about 6inch further past the frame pipe..

I test flew it myself a few months ago after a almost 3 year build and now have 6 hours of the needed 25 hour flight testing on it so far..

on a different note I had the wing battens sliding out of the wing past the ailerons each flight due too the crap desigh of the nylon rib ends which I had many of them fall apart before it even flew
so I custom made some bigger ones that are bolted to each battern and they are so much better and never had a issue since.

I attached a pic for you too see the wide entry me and my Dad made, we basiclly re designed the hole entry area and added a extra mount support to the floor and its stronger that the standard design..
I do have many pictures of the mods we done for my build log

as I am a paraplegic I also removed the foot peddles and added a extra lever for rudder in the middle of the seats with a custom throttle lever and it works so nice I very happy with what we have done,
