X-Air standard Brake Shoes

Does anyone know of a source of brake shoes in the UK or further afield for X-Air brake shoes? ?I dismantled my left hand brake assembly today to find what was left of the friction material lying in the hub.

Thanks

Darren

Hi Darren,

For us in UK, we have an agent (http://www.xairuk.com/) but I have not dealt with him directly, preferring to go direct to the European distributer, Randkar in France (http://www.randkar.fr/). That said, I have also had extremely good service and advice from Seamus in Ireland (http://www.xairireland.com/).

The French site has all the latest versions of Build Manual and Spare Parts Catalogue among others, but you'll need to register to download them. It's a simple process. Ordering from them or Seamus couldn't be easier. E-mail your requirement to Valerie in France or Seamus in Ireland for a Quotation and a prompt reply will come back. They both accept Paypal which I found to be convenient. Prices as far as I could tell are much the same as here in UK after currency conversion.

As for your brake shoes, I'm told that a motorcycle repair place can re-line them or try your local garage for ideas, they may know someone. Have you considered an advert on the Buy/Sell/Rent area of the BMAA Forum? (http://forums.bmaa.org/)

All the best,
John
