Xiegu ordering parts?

Hello this weekend I picked up a 5105 and found that the BNC connector center receptacle is loose.? As in BNC has been used a lot and the center receptacle no longer grips the male pin tightly and when you wiggle the connector the connection comes and goes.? Looking at the BNC you can tell the receptacle is actually wider than it should be.? So I would like to order a replacement and install it.? Rather than look through many many catalogs trying to find this thing I would like to order it straight from Xiegu.? Does anyone have a connection or is there a process to secure parts directly?

Thanks,
Randy

I've been with this group since it started, and have never heard of anyone successfully getting anything from Xiegu.
But you could try checking with the U.S. dealers, like RadiOddity - they are pretty good with support.
?Sinotel in England seems to be able to get some things/parts, but they aren't too convenient to talk to.

BNC connectors are quite well standardized, though, and you should be able to get one here in the U.S.A. without much difficulty.
The hard part will be getting the radio open and apart without damaging anything.? It's a tight fit inside.? Somewhere in the group, maybe the archives too, were posted pictures of all the circuit boards inside the radio, taken by the FCC when they tested it for rules compliance.

I agree with Doug.? Contacting Xeigu directly is a waste of time.? Don't even bother.? However I have found Alan Clunnie at Sinotel to be extraordinary at customer service.? I can't say enough about him.? He may not be able to provide the part but you have nothing to lose by contacting him directly at sales@...

Good luck.? BTW I am facing the same issue with the BNC conector.

Thanks everyone. I was provided with a contact at Xiegu, but as you've said here nothing happens. No reply.? I guess I will open it up and look around the connector and see if I can find a manufacturer's mark and go from there.? If I find a part number that fits I'll post it to the group where I got it from.

Randy,

It may be easier to DIY than deal with Xiegu at any level.?

I have not looked inside my X5105, but from some pictures, it seems that the BNC connector could be like
some BNC connectors that I got from Digikey (TE Connectivity AMP Connectors PN 5227161-9).

I have purchased some from both Digikey and from Mouser.

Randy -
Don't forget that in order to actually BE a BNC connector, it has to meet a lot of exact standards.
Little doubt that it would fit.? (Just don't buy a pack of 100!)

Here's an update from Xiegu.??

Out of desperation I sent an email to Xiegu's support email rather than my direct contact I was supplied by an ex vendor as I never got a reply by the direct although back door route.? The email I received from tech support basically told me to contact who I purchase the radio from for support there. Gee that was useful as nobody stocks parts in the United States other than a few basic knobs and someone has a front and back panel available.? Low and behold on Friday I received a message from the direct email not tech support. The lady apologized saying she hadn't checked her email in days!!!??
She inquired if I still needed the parts. I told her I did and I gave her my address asking her for a price including shipping. Haven't heard anything since. I'm hopeful maybe I'll hear something tonight. If not I'm going to write Xiegu support and parts off and consider these throwaway products.? Xiegu In particular and China in general just don't seem to get people on this side of the pond want support. We don't want to throw things away and buy new every time they break. Seems to be pardon the pun a foreign concept to them.? Fingers crossed for reply.??
