Digging the rig out after a long time and I cannot switch to memory from VFO. Neither the front panel V/M button or the one on the Mic works. Stuck in VFO mode.

I have done a RESET but that doesn't fix it.

If it has been stored long enough for the back-up power source to be depleted, memory data could be lost. ?No saved frequencies means the radio may not switch to memory mode?

Hmm. I thought that maybe it wouldn't shift to memory mode without at least one memory have something in it. But if I understand how it works, I need to shift to memory mode to put anything in a memory! Ouch! Catch 22.

The VFOs seem to hold their contents. Wouldn't a dead backup battery affect that?

I thought it might be a bad switch but both switches are dead.

Hope I don't have to reload software as I don't own a windows computer. I had to send it to Radioddity to get it to where it is now.
