No power out using FT8

Hello fellow users,

FT8 issue that I've seen asked but can't find the solution: No output from the X5105.

Using WSJT-X and flrig on Andy's Ham Radio Linux (xubuntu 22.04)

Rig control works and FT8 signals are decoded.

X5105 Settings
MIC/VOX: Internal and External, no difference
S/P : Speaker or phone, no difference
LIN/OUT: on/on
PTT: Normal or Toggle, no difference

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Maybe power settings?

Best
Christian?

Audio level from PC output setting?
(My PC often switches sound to MUTE when I close the laptop lid.? Took a while to figure that one out!)
Try transmitting with PC sound output set to "speaker" (of PC) to be sure PC audio is being generated.

Thanks for the replies.? The solution was to plug in the mic!? But I'm thinking it's more of a serendipitous workaround than a proper solution.? Do you guys have/need your mics plugged in when working FT8?

I only use my X5105 for FT8, and have never plugged in the microphone.
(Well, I did actually make one voice contact a couple of years ago, but used the built-in mic.)
You could also check with Radioddity's Tech Service department - they have been helpful with the X5105.

It works without the mic plugged in if DSP-FLT is set to on.? Weird how a receive setting affects it.? But I'm making contacts now and that's the important thing.
