Memory program for X-5105

Has anyone discovered a software program that lets you import memory channels for the 5105? Something like RT Systems or Chirp?

If so what settings in the 5105 and software did you need to make it work?

I've read that logging software like HRDlog or (I think) Log4OM can be used with the X5105 by telling the software that it's connected to an ICOM IC-7000.? Using the CAT/USB cable that comes with the X5105.? And I think I've read that WSJT-X can control the X5105 that way too.

There are utility programs for programming radios like my IC-706MkII that use the same protocol (CI-V) as the X5105.? So one of them might work.? One I've used is called "ic706mm.exe" " IC706 Memory Manager " by David Whitty. G4FEV May 1999."? There's a web page about the program, with full instructions, but I have it saved on my computer and don't have its URL handy.
There's also "VK4ADC's web - Icom Memories Manager.html", which I've also saved, but haven't tried (even with the IC-706).? It's at

And there are a few others that google can find.

I'm not currently in a position to try any of these with the X5105, but I do hope someone else can - and will!
If you do, please give a good report of your results, whether the software works, and even if not.

Yesterday I discovered that the rig control/interface software "FLRig" now includes the X5105 in its list of supported radios.
I have not yet had a chance to try it, but it might offer a way.? I started a separate thread about FLRig, too.? That's where any new-found information will go.

Nice Dave,

I finally tried this with my macBook using FLRig with WSJT-X instead of using the IC-7000 setting in WSJT-X. FLRig worked well.

Did you get happen to get power output and SWR indications when transmitting? I wasn¡¯t able to see that working here, but might be missing something¡ If that worked, it would be a good reason to use the combination.

Either way, I¡¯m half way there for when I want to try some of the other digital modes that are FLDigi now. :-)

Thanks,
Joe

No, I couldn't get things to work well at all.? Especially the PTT command to go into Transmit mode.? I seemed to be having trouble with the USB adapter cable.

What I'm really hoping for is to be able to use an Android phone or tablet for control and logging.? So far, though, I've spent a few hours trying with my Windows laptop, and all my 'luck' has been bad.

Also, I think I remember reading that the IC-7000 rig setting in WSJT or FLRig works with the X5105, and that Xiegu says to use that choice - but that it's not "fully" supported.? I was mainly trying to find a way to program the memory channels and all efforts resulted in total failure.? Also zero success with PTT.

I'll be trying again, but have been busier lately with new access to 160 meters using my old IC-706MkII.? In my first week, I've worked 47 states - Montana couldn't hear me, and seems to be about the rarest of the 48.

I found that FlRig seems to have some nice features for tracing and logging commands.

I found this reference for the CIV command protocol for ICOM commands, too.

I¡¯ll put this on my backlog to try out and see if this will shed some light on getting PWR output on the screen.

Thanks ..I will try that setting.
