FT8 cable - $15 on ebay

Edited

This ebay listing
FT8 Audio CAT Interface 8-Pin Mini DIN DATA Cable XIEGU G90 X5105 HF Transceiver
is for a very handy-looking cable, for $14 + $1 shipping.
It connects to the mini-DIN connector and doesn't use (or need) USB.? But this version is only for PC's with a TRRS audio jack - one connector for both headphones and microphone.? There is another version of the cable for PCs that have separate MIC and Headphone jacks (same price).
[Having the DATA signal at/in the ACC connector is a great idea!? I should have thought of this setup myself!]

the seller's store is

He has a bunch of accessories for the Xiegus and the IC-705.? One that sounds good is a charger/power supply for the X5105, at $15 + $2 shipping.

I wondered about how popular this store might be, so here's a couple "specs" from the page

I plan to order the cable once I get back to Michigan - I can only get paypal items shipped there, but I'm away for a couple of months.? Meanwhile, I'll use my homebrew "kludge" connections.

Doug,

I just bought some cables from Denis @ Digirig?

They work for the x5105 as well as the G90. I also got the Digirig itself as the CE-19 was just too wonky for me. The cables and digirig are pretty compact and I will be bringing them camping with me at the end of the month.

I like that it works with multiple brands of radios - just in case another radio follows me home.

Denis was super awesome and reached out to me to see how everything went after I ordered. I'm a new ham and he helped me with a few of my problems. Like my high SWR cutting my FT8 transmissions (I have my x5105 set to limit power to 2.5:1 SWR - I'd love input on this BTW ...should it be lower?), helping my configure omnirig, etc..? I'm running 5 watts from my apartment deck and hitting the east coast with a homebrew 49:1 balun with about 25' of wire in an inverted U shape, tuned with a nanoVNA.

Here is a photo of my setup!??

Best of luck!

Michael - N6MTT
