Re: X5105 charger type question
Hi, The X5105 has a built-in charger for the internal battery. All you need is a regular powersupply that delivers 13.8 volts and can deliver a current of 2.5 to 3 Amp. as far as I know, the internal

X5105 charger type question
Hi The manual says we need to charge the X5105 with a 13.8V minimum 3A power supply. I'm guessing this is for when running the unit while charging. However, I have a constant current, constant voltage

Re: External amp keying
One could also set up (make) a simple circuit to have their key operate a double-pole relay, with one contact pair wired to the s5105 and one to the amp.? Made with a tiny battery and a reed?

Re: External amp keying
The CE-19 could be wrapped in leather or thin foam, or put into a small plastic box that has a notch in the edge for the cables to pass though.?? Double-stick foam tape holding it onto the radio

Re: External amp keying
?Mike, It is 100% the fragility of the CE-19. It is ironic that a radio as tank like as the X5105 relies on a device as fragile as the CE-19 for digital communications. I swear I think if I drop it

Re: External amp keying
Is it the weight, volume or possible fragility that gives you pause? I don¡¯t own one but the factor that might give me pause is the chance of getting it wet or busting it. With a bit of low cunning

Re: External amp keying
It would be good if someone finds a device or a simple build that can effectively key an amp without using the CE-19. The CE-19 is fine for use in the shack, but it is not a piece of equipment I am

Re: External amp keying
I have only used the WOLPHI design for PSK. In other words, I use this circuit to key the 5105 from my Android device not to key an amp. I would use the CE-19 or an R.F. sensing circuit within the amp

Re: External amp keying
Mike - Here's another big thanks!? The diagram is very interesting, and the link to the complete manual is super helpful! Technically, though, I doubt that the CE-19 uses the audio to create the PTT
