Re: Antennas for portable or Pedestrian Mobile operation
Well, I watched OM0ET's video again, and he DOES describe his antenna.? It's a spiral wound on a fiberglass rod, sort of like a "hamstick", and made for the 11 meter band.? He said it's less than 4

Re: Antennas for portable or Pedestrian Mobile operation
Thanks for that very helpful information!? I had seen those antennas in MFJ's catalog, and wondered how good they are. -- Doug, K8RFT

Great Rig
Just a comment from a new member. Ive owned my X5105 for about a year now and recently updated the firmware to ver 3.0.7. It has resolved my CW issue and seems to have bettered the noise floor. This

Re: CW Messages.
Brian, you might be right but the radio was traded for my G90. I am OK the way it works now but still have to try the remote and digital mode with the MiniProSC. Will see if the new mike's keypad

I am starting to suspect a bad chip on the mother board. You might want to send the whole radio back. Brian K0FBS

Re: CW Messages.
As I mentioned the menus are different which is fine. The only annoying difference is that their is no indication of which digit is selected for tuning. To know which one you have to tune and see

Brian, that is the first thing I checked. The mike is on external and I did several QSO on SSB with no problem. No, I didn't take it as overbearing just trying to help and I am grateful for

Thank you Brian. My problem is that the 5105 doesn't respond to any of the keys on the mike. I am going to order a new mike and see if it works. 73 and have a safe trip. Yvon NU6I

Re: CW Messages.
Actually, I wouldn't really expect to find a CW function on a mic! The mic sure looks the same as the G90's, and the X5105 manual description says there's at least one button that does nothing on the
