no TX power on any Band and outside the Band

 

I get myself a used x1m today and it has no output power at all, I can here the signal on my sdr sitting next to it, but got 0w on my swr and on an atu100, maybe someone no were I can start to search the error?

I put on March 14 firmware but nothing change.

Andreas,

You have to take the machine apart and test the final transistor.
It is sandwiched between two boards. It is best to change the device anyway since you are already there. Clip off the old transistor while on the board. Then desolder the old legs. Test the transistor to find the fault. If it is OK replace it anyway, and move to test the pre driver. Most cases it will be the final transistor.?
Don't forget the jumper boards are polarized, mark them before you take apart.

I would be thinking the owner sold it after cooking the pa transistor.? Ask him face to face.

it's not too hard to change, just needs care and some time.

i forgot to tell that its an x1m pro version, and i desolder the rd06hvf1 and put it on my ceap parts tester, and it seems to be fine. board version is v3.01b is there any schematics for this board?
 

It's not the final transistor, It's the upd pre driver.
The same problem occurs with the Icom IC-746 Pro.
The 100 uh inductor is the cause of the pré driver failure
Replace the pré driver and install a 300 NH inductor instead.?

Is the 100nh inductor this one in the pa stage, on attached schematic?? Any advice on where I can find it as one of the boards doesnt have any component IDs on it.? Thanks in advance!??

Hi,
The inductor is very small and is part of the copper trace.
Be very careful around that area especially if you have to replace the final transistor as the copper easily lifts off the board eith heat from the iron.
