I will give the Chinese one thing ... my 1/16 R/C tanks may not be top quality from the factory but they still run/shoot and do all the other things they are supposed to and I have yet to have one die on me and I've had them for 20 years or so.

It is pretty cool to listen to the motor as it cranks up, fires and then sits and idles?until?I give it the throttle. I love the 6mm paint balls?it shoots and the way they rock back after firing the main gun. Nice sounds to the MG's too. Of course adding upgraded gearboxes with?better motors helps and adding metal running gear/tracks helps with making it run a lot smoother over the ground and even grass. They almost sound like a real tank with the clanking and squeaking?going on when running!! And price - basic tanks can be had for less than $200!!!!! Sure as hell can't beat the price, I have bought them for as little as $50!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't run because the idiot that owned it was trying to use it with the wrong batteries!!!!!!!!!

With all that going for them why would I want to mess with 1/35 toys?

You never did say anything, did you ever get a chance to check out that Combat Dealer??? Man I LOVE that show and have learned a LOT from it.

? ?Believe me, I've been AMAZED and have expended a lot of Drool Factor over those RC Tanks. Almost bought one for conversion into a Spider Battle Mech at one point. (Yeah. I KNOW! > BLASPHEMY!!! < But it sure sounded like FUN at the time! --- HEY! You KNEW I was WEIRD when you met me!? LOL) Had to give up on that idea when I went on to Driving OTR and just didn't have any time for FUN stuff anymore. <sigh> Spent many a wasted 46 hour reset sitting in a truck parking-lot twiddling my thumbs and WISHING that I had!!! (Especially when some other Driver would be out playing around with his RC car or truck. <evil-grin>? LOL)?

? ?Yeah, I watched every episode that I could find on the BoobTube.? Most were only about 15 minutes or so "teasers" I'd call them, but I sure enjoyed the heck out of them. = I would LOVE to spend a few weeks with the twins just playing with those Toys and making them go BOOOOOM!!! again! And getting to root around in all of those stashes . . . . you would never get me to GO HOME!? LOL?
? ?I couldn't help but wonder . . . . What will become of all of those Treasure Troves once the old owner passes on??? --- One guy had a daughter that seemed "interested". But it was hard to tell if she was doing it because she liked it or just because she was helping her Dad?????? = Would be just WAY TOO SAD to see all of that GREAT OLD Stuff go to the landfill or scrapyard!!!!! <SIGH!!!>?

? ?Now > I < have never been around an ACTUAL FIRING TANK in my life, but I sure as heck have been on deck when our 5 and 8-inchers were blazing away. So, while watching that episode, I couldn't help but go, "Hang on a minute! . . . THAT didn't LOOK RIGHT!" = And, sure enough, a quick scan of the Comments Section confirmed my suspicions because A LOT of other folks saw the exact same things. === ALL FAKE!??

Yea, there is some "showman" to it, but it IS a TV show. Also, there is NO WAY IN HELL the government is going to let him fire LIVE rounds, they are blanks - I've watched them buy them. ALL the stuff he "blows up" is for show, not for real. That is obvious but most of the time he will say something to that effect.
