I remember reading that the boots the guys wore had 7 layers to them and the "moon dust" had eaten through 6+ of them. Yea, they were that close to losing people over it and that doesn't count the damage done to ALL the joints in the suits. It was stated that the Chinese Lunar Rover went 15 feet before stopping dead cold and the best they could figure out was the "dust" killed the bearings they had used. To bad it has been so long since I read that report, I know you would have liked it. There were other things in it too ...
