FLYING SAUCERS ARE REAL review
Greetings All,
I finally got to listen to the audio version of FSAR by D Keyhoe. = I gotta admit, I was pretty impressed. Lots of good factoids regarding UFO sightings not only from the 50s but also the 17, 18, and early 1900s. As well as the reasons and methods employed by the Feds to deny everything and cover them all up. All melded into an evolving story of discovery and dawning awareness by the author. I loved how he stuck to the facts as he had uncovered them in his own interviews with witnesses and specialists, rather than knuckle under and accept the fantasies and outright lies of the military spin doctors. = If Hist Chnl's PBB series even covers half of this stuff (without all of their BS silly hype from their other UFO shows) it could be Darn Good!!! This one gets my Highly Recommended stamp. Keep It FUN! Dan G ? |
Re: How hard is it to be an alien?
Greetings Ron and All,
I'm not to sure about that "plant community" thing. = I've seen enough trees (for example) that do everything they can to kill off any competition that attempts to grow beneath their bows by blocking sunlight, sucking up all moisture and nutrients, etc. Including that required for any of their own seeds that happen to fall within their kill zone. Some even resort to chemical warfare tactics. --- Maybe they just need their own "personal space" (without even the bratling spawn. LOL) before they reach out to their neighbors??? --- Or maybe the Tree Huggers are skewing test results again in order to curry favor with their malevolent dark plant gods again. === Keep the Round-Up handy!!! LOL ? Keep It FUN! Dan G |
PROJECT BLUE BOOK trailer
I always thought that a Retro (50s era) X-Files show (or better, a book series) would be pretty cool. History Channel's dramatic series PROJECT BLUE BOOK claims it intends to focus more on the conspiracies than the UFOs and "Little Green Men", but the trailer sure looks pretty good!

If one can believe the info out there about plants, even they have a "community" spirit, helping others survive during droughts or when another of their group get's "hurt". And they react to outside stimuli, not feeling what we would call pain but definitely a reaction and that can happen just from some?- an animal or man - walking by it. I would think that if a plant can do that it might not be emotions driving it, it might just be mutual assistance and I would also think it would be real had to tell the difference between the mutual assistance and "feelings" for another member of it's species. Or not ... LOL? Bugs man, what can one say? Ron |
Re: How hard is it to be an alien?
Interesting thought, Terry.
I think that it's all relative. Isn't it? = The more sophisticated the society, the more complex becomes the role of the individual within that society as he/she/it struggles to achieve their relative position within it. --- Of course that would only apply to a society comprised of and recognizing the value and contributions of individuals to the greater society as a whole. I do not believe the members of a hive type (natural or manufactured) society would suffer much in the way of the same social or moral anxiety as do maturing pack/herd oriented humans. --- I'm not sure how one would view the relationship of those creatures that exist purely for the perpetuation of their species and, aside from mating, have no other contact with their kind without anthropomorphizing our own Human views upon them. There are certainly a number of these types of creatures that appear to be doing quite well here on our own planet. . . . But, hey, what do I know? I'm just a dumb maladjusted Huuman Earther. Re: How hard is it to be an alien?
LOL!!! Ron. --- Yeah, providing our "pets" with free room and board, and our willingness to keep cleaning up their waste products has proven a most successful ploy in preventing them from kicking us out and taking over our planet.? --- But keep an eye on those darn "termites"! Once they figure that we've manufactured enough high tech waste materials to fuel their wars for centuries to come, they'll have done with us all. . . . That's provided that the "ants" don't beat them to the punch! . . . It's a good thing the "roaches" are still on our side! LOL

Knowing that my cat is an alien I would say they have no problems once they teach us to obey ... And yes, I can prove my cat is an alien, he grows one whisker over his left eye when he is ready to transmit information back to the star base, then it drops off to hide his identity. I hadn't seen it. Looks like it might be interesting trouble is I have little to no faith in new movies. But since we do get Netflix we will probably give it a try. Ron On Sat, Jul 14, 2018 at 11:13 PM, Dan G via Groups.Io <Grauwulf@...> wrote: Greetings All, |
THE QUANDERHORN XPERIMENTATIONS
Greetings All,
This looks like a bit of zany British comedic time traveling (or not really. I mean, if you're stuck in 1952 for 65 years battling weird alien invasions all the time then I guess you can't really call it "Time Traveling". . . Or can you???) FUN! Keep It FUN! Dan G |
MONSTER HUNTER INTERNATIONAL series
Greetings All,
I read a couple of MHI books some time back and decided to give the audio version of the series a run. I sure wasn't disappointed! . . . If you aren't familiar with MHI ===> Larry Correia's MHI are profesional monster bounty hunters drawn from every walk of life and armed to the teeth with real world weapons (and this guy really KNOWS his hardware!) They are totally dedicated to their chosen profession and aren't afraid to go up against some of the world's most vicious and nightmarish horrors.(I think some would do it even if there wasn't a bounty. . . . But, hey, ya gotta pay the bills, right?) . . . But be prepared to have some of your basic ideas of just how some supernatural races manage to remain hidden in plain sight within our world. Some of Correia's twists will leave you howling and looking twice the next time you pass a trailer park.
Nonstop action. Plenty of good laughs. Interesting realistic human characters. More action. And a seemingly endless collection of monsters that are MONSTERS!?
If you're looking for romantic vampires that sparkle, or yet another dungeon crawl in print, or a host of characters with superpowers armed with "magik" weapons, or another lame zombie stumble, or a sex pumped gorefest . . . Keep Looking.
Oliver Wyman does a great job with the narration! I enjoyed every minute of it!In summation. = A GREAT start to a GREAT series! = Very much looking forward to the rest!
The thing that got me interested in revisiting the series was seeing that L Correia had teamed up with another of my favorite writers to keep MHI going. = John Ringo!!! --> I thought, "WOW!!! That should be GREAT!" But to do this right, I needed to restart at the beginning of the series. After grabbing the first couple of audio books I skipped down to read the reviews of GRUNGE and SINNERS. . . . "WOW!" was right. Holy WereCats! did folks HAMMER those books!!!!! = SOOOO darn disappointed! Unless someone here has read them and can give me a better opinion of them at this point I think that I'll save the credits and just stay with Correia's original works. Those ARE Great! . . .? ~ MAYBE ~ if G and S ever make it into my local library where I can get them for FREE I might give them a try, otherwise, . . . Hey, I may be a Fan, but I sure ain't no Fool! LOL ? Anybody here have any supernatural/horror type fiction books or series that YOU enjoy??? Keep It FUN! Dan G |
Re: Continuing to work on my new aerial gunshop
Looking GOOD!
But I was a tad disappointed. = The header reads, "my aerial gunshop". So for a second there my twisted mind started wondering if you were taking your creations to new heights. = Has Terry started building full scale working aircraft guns in his garage??? --- Hey, everybody needs a hobby! LOL Keep It FUN! Dan G? |

Smaller and more agile than the big Shakespeares these craft carry far less ordnance and armor but can be built in larger numbers and may be somewhat faster. No name for the type yet but parts for this master to be used for resin casting include A-10s, Sea Harriers, Sea Hawks, AH-1Gs, B-25s and sundry other things. With a lineage like that they have to be deadly!
