Kenwood D750
开云体育Kenwood released their first D-Star capable HT (D74) in Oct 2016.? Given the price, it was quite successful.? Color screen, full keypad, excellent support for D-Star, triband including 220.? ? I remember attending a presentation at Dayton, I think in 2018, where 2 guys from Kenwood were imploring the audience to contact Kenwood asking they build a mobile radio built on the D74 HT’s design.?? They said Kenwood listens to customers more seriously than employees.? ? Well, 7 years later, Kenwood is releasing the D750, a mobile based on the D75, meaning it does D-Star.? No info on price yet. ?

DTMF commands now work on Multimode repeater (updated)
开云体育The W6CX-DV Multimode DV repeater (145.0 +2.5) now processes DTMF commands in D-Star mode.? I am looking into getting it also working on certain other DV modes. Probably the biggest use would be to send an RF command to link to a reflector different from the default.? For example, if you have a radio with DTMF keys, you could key up and hit *03003 .? This would request relinking to REF030C.? Simply sending # will unlink from the current reflector.? It is always nice, when done, to link back to our default of REF014C (DTMF ** will do that), but if there is no RF activity on D-Star after something like 10 minutes, it will automatically link back to the default.? Here is a summary about DTMF keys on a Multimode repeater from COMMON DTMF COMMANDS 0?????? Voice / Info Announcements????? A = 1?? B = 2?? C = 3?? D = 4?? ?? Jim |

Trevor WA6JAU, Grant K6CBK and I worked on the South Peak's repeater site
today.? We first got the DV repeater's Dashboard to display normally and were able to get the repeater to link to the appropriate default reflectors and talkgroups.? Trevor and Grant also worked on other update tasks. I then upgraded the DV controller's computer to a faster Raspberry Pi.??? So all is working properly and we have a more robust computer for the DV controller. If you have a D-Star radio, or one that does Fusion. DMR or M17, please feel free to make use of our MultiMode digital voice repeater.? Check out for more info.? You are more than welcome to use RF commands to link any of these modes to other reflectors or talkgroups that you'd like to listen to and hopefully use for QSOs.? Ideally, when done, you will relink to the default, but it will also do that automatically after some time with no local RF activity using that DV mode. Obviously, don't relink or try another talkgroup if the repeater is busy, but You will likely not have to wait long.? Have fun! ??? Jim - K6JM ??? W6CX DV repeater admin |

Re: Where is everyone?
Jim: Please don’t be discouraged about lack of use. I frequently cite the W6CX DV repeater as the first (that I know of) US repeater capable of M17. M17 is gaining momentum now that there are an increasing number of radio options for M17.? It was your work on W6CX to prove out M17 works that led to the creation of a new email list called [email protected] to try to promote M17 usage including setting up repeaters using MMDVM such as W6CX. Hi Jim:
I use the repeater for D-Star 2 - 3 times a week primarily to monitor distant conversations. Your observation on less usage is correct and mirrors a fall-off in activity elsewhere. Even scheduled nets are sometimes absent. It may be summer where other activities
compete with radio time. Presently, Regions 4 & 5 seem to be the most active.
