Subject: Pics of my Trailer ===================== From: <musicmatty@...> Date: 2007/06/28 Thu AM 04:02:00 CDT To: W650riders@... I just recently took a trip to the beach with my brother and we took my trailer with our bikes strapped on. This trailer is much cheaper in cost then a regular Motorcycle trailer but I customized it and it is actually much better than what they sell for bike trailers. It's a 5ft wide by 10ft in length with 2inch wood board planks for the floor...so I was able to sink in large eye bolts for tie downs on the floor aswell into the metal railing all along the sides for added hooks. The wheels are on 13inch rims so they are big and you can really roll with them without worring about burning up the bearings like on the small wheels that come with most bike trailers. It fits two bikes comfortably with added room behind for luggage storage and this is where I boxed it off on the sides with a removable center board for the bikes to roll on and off but the center board keeps everything from slidding forward. The trailer was around $800. US dollars and about $100. dollars or so in hardware. I bought the trailer at Lowes and as I said it is a far better equipped trailer than a $2000. plus bike trailer with small wheels and just for one bike really. Here are some pics below.. Way cool Matty, I was looking at exactly that trailer in a
Lowes ad, good idea.

Matty,
Nice job. My wife works for Lowes and I've looked at those trailers before...can't beat it for the money. Anytime you and your brother feel like some mountain riding just come on down. Leave your car and trailer at my house and take off for a day or two (or three, etc)... Nice rig, Matty. I like the built-in ramp...makes it really easy to walk the bikes up. I had a similar trailer, without the ramp, for my sidecar, but recently sold it. It was out in the weather (I'm a couple of blocks from the beach) and getting rusty really fast. So how did the dog like the trip to the beach? ;-> gene in OR |

Subject: Re: [W650riders] Pics of my Trailer My dog loved the trip..she's 15 yrs old and probably wont be here at this time next year with me, she's a chiwawaaa. I had a bicycle there with a basket on the front and I would ride her all around in it and she really liked that...more time on that than the W.
