Hi all, new owner.....

Hi all, new owner of a 1999 w650 after many years of large touring and sports machines. Age and wisdom have got the better of me and I'm happy having a blast around the rural roads in Wiltshire UK on my newly acquired machine - really pleased with it and am now beginning to tinker.....

Probably an easy answer but I can't see a way to change the gear change pedal height? My past bikes have all had a rod with a right / left hand threaded end which just moved the lever but I can't see it on this one. Any clues appreciated...!

Cheers.

The gear lever in on a splined shaft and secured by a pinch bolt.? Remove it and reposition where required.

Welcome aboard, Keith!

Just remove the arm and adjust on the spline. I needed to move mine one notch. Check to make sure it’s within recommended specs that you can find in the service/owner’s manual. You do want to hand your brakes function as intended.

Thanks both,

Just had a closer look and it really is that simple! I was expecting to see linkages, rods, locknuts etc and as usual, I overcomplicated things! Much appreciated....
