The TT is always on a Saturday Laura. I was watching it but as it is obviously goping to be yet another Rossi benefit (Yawn) I've left it to come and type this. I enjoyed the 125s The 250s were a bit boring but as usual the Moto GP is a forgone conclusion.

As it's the Dutch TT this weekend (on now on Eurosport - yes on the sat not the sunday) here's a classic dutch bikesong for you all. I sang along to it as a teenager while reading the lyrics (do teenagers still do that?) anyway did hear of BSA and Norton and it wasn't until 26 years later that these names began to mean anything! It's been chosen as the best bikesong at the TT last year apparently.

Hi?Laura I will try to explain.
?
Moto GP- 2 wheeled equivalent of F1 pure racing bikes 800cc 4 strokes. Rossi Pedrosa ect.
250 GP -pure racing bikes 250cc 2 strokes
125 GP-pure racing bikes?125cc 2 strokes
All above held at the same meeting
World Super Bikes- 1000cc bikes based on production bikes albeit very loosely
World Super Sport-600cc bikes based on production bikes albeit very loosely
All above held at the same meeting
British Super Bikes - 1000cc bikes based on production bikes albeit very loosely. Only held at British circuits with the exception of one round which is held at Mondello Park near Dublin
British Super Sport-600cc bikes based on production bikes albeit very loosely Only held at British circuits with the exception of one round which is held at Mondello Park near Dublin
All above held at the same meeting.
No rider competes in more than one class these days.
I hope this goes some way to making it clearer

I have been trying to understand it all. At a TT (circuit) there's MotoGP which is racing on bikes of between 500cc and 800cc (?) all over europe (or other parts of world as well).

Then there's racing on smaller machines.

And there's WSB and so on.

What is sort of 'the' event? I don't really watch it (yet) but do the Pedrosas and the Rossis do both? WSB and MotoGP. Suppose GP is well the GP so that must be the main racing event then? Pfff complicated.

Kind of a Pilgrim-pirate-in-a-ticker-tape-parade look.?? ;->
?
The crash at the end was pretty funny. Was it because they were drinking and looking at the girl?

your welcome. Have you been to a big race meet yet? If not you really should add it to your motorcycling experiences. Brands is only 57 miles from Brighton and easy to find

Thruxton is?only 85 miles and?can be?almost all up the A roads which makes for a nice ride on a Harley....

No haven't been. hm not sure I'll like that. Yep know where Brands Hatch is not far. Friend is going to the next race first weekend of August but we're planning on going to another rally with a few friends. That's v near to brands again (summer breezer near biggin hill) think my friend wants to combine the two.

The same applies to Brands and the viewing and public facilities are far better. Also due to the nature of the track the racing tends to be closer
