Trip report: Cerro Grande

W5N/SE-011, Cerro Grande remains an easy hike due to the dry weather. The showed patchy snow on the ground so I came prepared with cleats. There was not enough ice or snow to bother with them though. The final 100' ascent has about 8" of windblown snow.

Operated for about an hour at the summit on 30 meters and 20 meters. No significant DX but a ton of first-time chasers for me.

NOAA¡¯s long term forecast for January is supposed to continue the warm and dry trend.

Hiya Doc,

Truth is, I love regional contacts and always try to work a low band in case any of my friends are by the radio. :-)

Happy holidays!
