FILE UPLOAD PROBLEM SOLVED 4
The file upload problem has been solved, and it wsa my fault. After finding that I could upload from my laptop, I rebooted the main computer and it's working again. How embarrasing! Thanks so much to those who responded that they would contribute to the cost - that's very much appreciated, but it won't be necessary thank goodness. 73, Ed - W4ELP

Link to Google Drive for new files 14
There have apparently been some changes in Groups.io recently that are impacting this forum. The free version of Groups.io has become more restrictive and I am currently unable to upload any new program files. Fortunately we are grandfathered in and can retain the "Files" section of the forum and any existing ones. For new ones, I can store them on Google Drive and post links in the Files section. So don't be alarmed when you don't see the actual exe file, but a link to Google Drive. Sorry about this change, but the cost to provide features that we had a few months ago is now $240 per year and I can't afford that. The alternative might be to create my own web site. For now, it appears that we can continue the forum. Hopefully no further restrictions will be imposed. 73, Ed - W4ELP

New Release of W4ELP Lookup
W4ELP Lookup v9.17 has been released and is available in the Files > Program Files section of the forum. Note that this will be a link to Google Drive rather than the exe file itself. Several improvements have been made, especially in the S.I.G. (Special Interest Groups) area. Among other things, a POTA feature has been added which adds information to the comments box of HRD/DM780 if you enter a callsign that's currently activating a POTA park. Also fixed some problems with right-click grabbing of callsigns and contest exchanges as well as dupe checking. As always, please report any problems or bugs. 73, Ed - W4ELP

Labels Missing 6
I just am getting around to writing this from WFD. I used two computers and rigs for WFD. As far as I could tell, I thought that I had both computers set with the same settings. Take a look at the attached photos. One computer is missing the RST Serial and Exchange Labels, and only shows a letter B over top exchange. The other computer had the labels. Both computers populated the data fields correctly with a Right Click. Both are running Win10. What setting did I miss on computer -1 to not show exchange labels? Otherwise, the program worked great and logged to both HRD and N3FJP. I had both computers networked and kept one as the main log. Steve VA3FLF

NetLog updated 3
Found some errors in the NetLog program. First-time QSOs were not being handled correctly, and QSO counter was not working right. Both errors fixed (hopefully). This should also correct problem of program not making history file for new stations. Happy Thanksgiving! 73, Ed - W4ELP

Two new apps 17
Hi all! I have posted 2 new apps for download for those interested. These are simple, stand-alone apps for specific applications. First is W4ELP's POTALog. It is a small, simple program for POTA activators. It can be used in the field during activation, or after the fact to transcribe hand-written logs to an adif file ready for upload to POTA. The file can also be imported into your main logging program. Documentation is included. This is a stand-alone program and does not require Ham Radio Deluxe. Also a copy of the user manual is posted in the Files > Documents section of the forum. For you POTA activators out there....I hope you find it useful. Second one, NetLog, was developed for my own convenience. I participate in a daily roundtable QSO of 3 to 5 or 6 stations. I like to keep lots of notes and found it very difficult to log multiple stations. This program allows you to keep track of up to 10 stations at a time and keep unlimited notes for each one as well as to view a history of notes and QSOs for each station. It produces an adif file that can be imported into your main logging program. It is not intended to be a "main" logger. A comprehensive user manual is included. A copy of the manual is also posted in the Files > Documents section of the forum. If you regularly participate in roundtable QSOs or nets, you may find it useful. Both of these programs are quite specialized, so they may or may not be of interest to you unless you do roundtables or you're a POTA activator. 73, Ed - W4ELP

POTA Log v1.7 available
Hi all, The POTALog program has had a few more updates and imptovements. Mostly improving the user interface and making the startup sequence smoother. The last park and last date are now remembered and can be recalled for the next session. Park name is now displayed in the main window along with the park number. 73, Ed - W4ELP

Program Updates
Three of the W4ELP programs have been updated today, 19 Nov 2022. The Lookup program has some minor updates and maintenance items - nothing major. Both the NetLog and POTALog programs are updated to ensure that they do not erase existing W4ELP programs upon installation, and that they will do a proper and complete shutdown if the "X" is clicked in the upper title bar. This will prevent a "ghost" instance from running in the background and causing an arror message on next startup. No operational changes in any of the above. 73, Ed - W4ELP

DM780 CW with Yaesu FT-897D 4
Hi all, I'm new to the group as I'm having an issue with DM780 and my Yaesu FT-897 so I beg forgiveness if I'm off topic or not using a correct format for the group. I'm using a Signalink USB interface between my laptop and radio. I've only tried CW so far. My radio is connected to HRD/DM780 as it can change frequency etc... The program copies CW, but when I go to transmit using one of the macros, it just keys down the radio, no CW. I have both the CAT from the laptop along with the Signalink into the Data port on the radio. I'm close, but no cigar. Thanks in advance. 73 de KQ2N - Gary

Thanks for W4ELP
I had some gremlins networking and sharing the log on two computers during Field Day. No need to go into the details but W4ELP saved the day for me. I wish I had the time to learn all the functions before FD but I kept the hotkey list handy. Great piece of software. Thanks, Steve KM4FLF / VA3FLF

BUG REPORT - PLEASE READ. 10
In responding to a user question, I have just discovered something that's not working quite as planned. Everything is still ok to run, but you should do the following: In the W4EL Setup window, go to the "Enhanced ALE Fields" tab and click TX Power, Age and Remarks boxes. Then Save and Restart. These are supposed to be optional, but without them being checked, the overlay contest exchange boxes are missing from the Logbook ALE and you cannot manually enter data in the regular Logbook exchange boxes. Sorry if this has caused any problems or confusion. It will be fixed ASAP. 73, Ed - W4ELP

New Update v9.16.1
IMPORTANT: If you have downloaded v9.16, please replace it with v9.16.1 immediately. It was found that right-click capture of callsigns, etc. was NOT working correctly in some HRD versions. V9.16.1 should provide right-click capture in all HRD versions. There may be further minor tweaks posted in the next few days but no major changes until after Field Day. Sorry if the right-click issue has been as inconvenience or caused confusion. 73, Ed - W4ELP
