BUG REPORT - PLEASE READ.

In responding to a user question, I have just discovered something that's not working quite as planned.
Everything is still ok to run, but you should do the following:
In the W4EL Setup window, go to the "Enhanced ALE Fields" tab and click TX Power, Age and Remarks boxes. Then Save and Restart.
These are supposed to be optional, but without them being checked, the overlay contest exchange boxes are missing from the Logbook ALE and you cannot manually enter data in the regular Logbook exchange boxes.
Sorry if this has caused any problems or confusion. It will be fixed ASAP.

Following your instructions Ed, your program has transformed the HRD logbook ale. I’ve been using it in the All Asia CW contest and am very impressed.?

Many thanks for a great facility.

Ed,
Spent some time setting up your bridge on a couple of laptops for FD. ?All seems to be good for PSK and CW. ?

Thanks for your quick responses and for the good work.

Bill,
Check your folder C:\W4ELPLookup\Docs for the "First Time Setup Instructions.pdf" file. It should open automatically on the first time you run the Lookup program and there is no ini file present.

I just checked my new installation and it's working here. Looking at the code, it won't let the program continue unless there's an ini file written (done so by just opening the setup window and hitting Save & Restart).
If the file is missing, I have posted a copy here in the forum under Files > Documentation that can be downloaded and saved to the C:\W4ELPLookup\Docs folder.

If needed, I can post or send you a "starter" ini file to get you going. I think this should be handled in the program in a better manner - something for me to work on.
Let me know if you continue to have trouble with this.

Ed - W4ELP

Bill - yes. I'll prepare a sample ini file and email it directly. Is your email address in QRZ ok?

Edit - File sent to email address in QRZ.
