Re: Net Checkins 1/14/25
It is not necessary to link a new email address or anything out of the ordinary.? The steps to change call sign (display name) in are very simple. In the left hand menu, there is an item named "identity". From there, simply edit the display name field. No need to create a new account or change email addresses. Re: Net Checkins 1/14/25
If you are not a groups.io member, the list admin can enter new and erase old. If you join now, follow the steps to link old address to new account, then add new, delete old. If you now have groups.io acct, you can sign on and add new, delete old. Advice- don't delete old until new works. You might be able with the app if you have an account. I deleted the app from my phone as it duplicated my email accounts. Brent, KE4MZ On Jan 15, 2025 11:38 AM, "Clint Huff KQ4WWV via groups.io" <Clint_Huff@...> wrote:

Does anyone know how to update your call sign on groups.io? My call sign has changed and it looks like Thomas has changed his as well.
Thanks,

Re: FEMA student portal
You will find that in the ARRL website. Under search type in Econ. It will populate.? 73 Alan On Sat, Jan 11, 2025 at 9:23?AM Scott Drum KQ4RUF via <scottdrum830=[email protected]> wrote: Good morning I¡¯m working through the task book and looking to complete the Basic EmComm course and can¡¯t seem to find it in the search. We had a brief test of our 2 meter simplex capabilities today.? Below are the results of the test.
?
?
We need to improve the VHF capabilities a little bit.? HF NVIS is a good solution, but I'd like to see our local VHF working a bit better.? Even NVIS can bounce over someone this close.
?
It might do us well to build 2 meter copper J-pole antennas.? They only cost about $30 worth of copper, and half an hour of build time.? They're rigid and work well.
?
It would also do well to test 6 meters for direct VHF contact, which was the purpose of the 6 meter antenna build today.? Jimmie and I will be testing this weekend once he has his strung up.? We'll let you know the results.? We have a few more 6 meter
verticals in progress to test as well.
?
Any other ideas to improve local communication are certainly welcome.

Folks I won¡¯t be able to make it tomorrow for the build meeting. I was abruptly but politely reminded of our wedding anniversary which, after 18 years you¡¯d think I¡¯d remember. Anyway, here¡¯s to seeing you next time. Brian KQ4WDG
