Please be alert for any county-wide SKYWARN nets - In Clearfield County on the 147.255 W3CPA repeater and in Centre County on the 146.850 W3YA repeater.? And if no weather net is active and you'd like to report significant?weather observations, please report directly to the State College NWS via email at??ctp.stormreports@....? (During?active SKYWARN weather nets the NWS office would typically be on frequency monitoring the nets and there is no need to duplicate your report via email) Thank you and 73. John N3SPW NWS Partners -?? Severe thunderstorms will be possible across central Pennsylvania Tuesday afternoon and evening, with the highest risk for severe weather across northwestern Pennsylvania. Further southeast, strong-to-severe thunderstorms are still possible. Re: Rockton Mountain Repeaters
Hi Jack- Regarding a 6 meter?repeater .... There is one on? Rockton Mountain, but it hasn't been on the air in many years.? The information from Jeff, who owns the site and equipment, was that it's not likely to return.? If he does decide to reactivate it, the repeater will operate on a different frequency.? Apparently the 52.9 TX / 52.4 RX repeater pair was issued by the repeater council in error many?years?ago.? Those frequencies?do not follow the 6 Meter band plan.?? () So if it returns, it will be on a different?frequency. John? N3SPW On Sun, Apr 13, 2025 at 11:43?AM Jack Woolridge via <wool10=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: DMR number for W3CPA
There is no problem using a single personal ID in multiple places, even at the same time. There is no technical reason we can't continue to use Rich's ID but I think it is best to use a club ID with the club callsign.
Thanks for picking up the ball on this one. I knew we needed to do this a year ago and it slipped off my plate. A single ID is enough, even though we have 2 radios and even if both radios are being used at the same time with the same ID. Having more than one ID causes issues if someone wants to call to direct or send a text message. The sender would have to know what radio and ID you are using in order to contact you. If you only have one ID there is no confusion.? |
Re: DMR number for W3CPA

Re: DMR number for W3CPA
ED- Get in touch with Paul W3PRL. He's a CCARC member and his contact info should be in the roster.? Paul operates a DMR repeater using his personal call sign and also operates DMR? with the same call sign.? He could help sort out how this gets configured so both a user radio and the repeater work with the same call sign.??
