Bob Heil K9EID SK 2/28/2024

I just heard this on YouTube and a couple other sites.
Bob Heil, founder of Heil Sound (the microphones used by hams and professionals) and former host of Ham Nation on Twit and YouTube, passed away on Wednesday 2/28/24 after battling cancer for the last year.?
QRZ.Com has it on the main page right now.

I have met him once, a really great and humble guy at Boxborough years ago. He also designed some of the best microphones used in the hobby, I have a couple in my shack and they work far better than stock. He will be missed.

Thank you Matt.?

?

Bob Heil did indeed make an impact on the sound quality of Amateur Radio QSO¡¯s as he also did on modern rock sound systems.? The Who, Peter Frampton and Grateful Dead used his technology I understand.?

Bob Heil ¡°went way back¡± with another notable ham: Joe Walsh of The Eagles. I think I recall Joe appearing on Ham Nation.
