Re: Radio Raffle Idea
Not to change the focus of this discussion however, reading through the State Police rules, our 50/50 raffle may be in question. Lloyd - W1LBM On Fri, Mar 7, 2025, 7:11?AM Martin Bayes AA1ON via <aa1on=[email protected]> wrote:

Hi everyone,
I was talking with a friend of mine in Tuscon AZ and he was talking about how his club holds 2 ham flea markets and they do a raffle for a couple radios as a fundraiser for their club.?
Now I've seen other clubs do various items, some have unlimited tickets, some have a set number.?
Now crunching some numbers, say we buy a Icom IC-7300 which is currently $999.99 and limit to selling 250 tickets for $5 per ticket. Selling all 250 tickets would bring in $1250, netting the club $251. The drawing could be at Field Day or Annual Meeting or Club Christmas Party.?
So putting it out there what's people's thoughts on a club fundraiser, thinking $5 for a chance at a $1000 radio is appealing, and I know some folks would buy 1 to 4 tickets on average ($5 to $20).?
The proceeds could go to Field Day expenses, the scholarship fund, or anything the club deems necessary.??

开云体育Thanks Peter,It worked out fine but I agree it would have been easier to read if you had the projector. ?At any rate, people got the drift of it and can always reach out to you if interested. ?Who knows, maybe you will find yourself presenting it again later on. ?At least they could see how you pack the things needed and get the idea! ?Thanks for doing this. Re: Winter FD 2025
As I have had my Groups.io set to provide me with a daily summary of messages, I unfortunately didn't get this e-mail until just a few minutes after 9am today. This was shortly after I returned home after driving to Woonsocket to be there for the planned set-up time of 8:30am
?
To avoid this kind of issue in the future, I have now modified my W1DDD Groups.io settings to receive individual messages immediately.
?
Since the daily W1DDD e-mail traffic is usually very light, this may be a good option for those who are not already using it.

Winter FD 2025
Attention all BVARC members,
?
Due to a last minute glitch, Winter FD scheduled for tomorrow will be scaled back. Larry Freitas was planning to provide his motor home as our shelter to operate. However, Larry has informed me that the RV is having mechanical problems and doesn't want to risk it's use. After conferring with several FD Comm. members, it has been decided to scale back our operation. This will entail Peter Sichel (K1AV), who will set up a small, heated tent and allow others to operate if desired. Space will be severly limited. If anyone wishes to bring a tent/shelter and set up for the day, they are welcome. If you have any questions, you can contact me at mickc@... 508-954-1725 or Peter at p.sichel@..., 401-405-1858.
?
In addition, no food or hot beverages will be available to those who brave the elements.?
