Locked W?VFW/R 145.27 Repeater- operating Information..

THIS IS NOT TO BE TALKED ABOUT ON THE AIR.....

It has come to my attention that late night the BLIND HAMS TALK GROUP is being jammed.
This is what we know:
#1. The jammer is accessing the group via DMR.
#2. The jammer is changing his radio's DMR address.
#3. The jammer is operating late at night.

Since our VHF repeater is connected 24x7 to the Blind Hams Group and we wish to continue at this time; we are not going to disconnect. Except or unless we create the issue. During nets, our repeater squelch tail will continue with a digital signal then drop. Only during Nets, it is coming from a digital HT on our input. I have never heard it on the input at my location but have hear it on the input at the repeater, ONLY during Nets. How I wished the repeater has a signal strength meter.? I only heard it once on Patricia's net last week.

The BLIND HAMS group is not interested in our little "burps" but instead this above mentioned? jammer.. So as of today, the Blind Hams group is turning off DMR access in the evenings, as this is when the jammer comes out to play. THEY ARE NOT ANNOUNCING THIS !! So If anyone tries to access us via DMR 10PM to 4AM nightly it will be a NO GO.. ALLSTAR will work as it should and be available 24x7. They are also working on better authentication of DMR access on their end.

Again THIS IS NOT TO BE TALKED ABOUT ON THE AIR.....

greetings

Yes Larry I had seen this information from the Blind Hams mailing list
and heard from KE4DYI about this matter. He says he is going to simply
split the analog and digital of his bridge during the hours between
11pm and 5am eastern time. Thus we who are on Allstar should not be
affected by this matter unless we elect to use DMR.

Thanks for sharing.

Patricia,

I also have been talking with him off air. We have a? ham in the club, that has buddies in IOWA and they want to connect, "Like you guys connect on Blind hams" and they have DMR radios in Iowa..

I worked 4:30am yesterday to 10:30pm yesterday as a Election Official.. Butt dragging today. But I? just fed the cows and goats..

I am really looking forward to the HAM EXPO this weekend. The seminars sound interesting with 4 streams going on at the same time, and vendors hawking goods hopefully at good prices in between...The club needs some coax.... to energize the GP9 on top of the tower.

I hate to see ham radio go this way as usually by now I have attended 5-8 hamfests. Unlike most hams in the area, I go to any hamfest within 500 miles of home. In my career I have been to hamfests in probably 30 states. Sometimes they coincided with my being there on Business. I was in Minneapolis-St. Paul once had the ARRL secion manager told me he was gong to the Deluth hambest, he'd take me but his car was full. I said no problem I had a rental with unlimited mileage so we followed each other and stopped at a Native American casino on the way back..? I had my FT-818 with me and there was a ham from Thunder Bay Canada who came down to the hamfest looking for a FT-817 and offered me full price for mine. I would not give it up and never will as it was a Christmas gift from a gal I should of married.?

So The Virtual Hamfest runs 8/8/2020..... the schedule is at

Mind you 8/8/1919..... my sainted mother's birthday..101 years ago.. she passed at 88.
