FIELD DAY June 22-23-2024 KF0BFU Michael Moore member of the W0VFW post 3115 Amateur Radio Club (this is a summary of the meeting that I gather and printed) 1 ST MEETING was 3-30-2024 Location of the 1 st meeting: Spangles at Kellogg and Boardway Time: 1:00pm until finished. 2 nd meeting was agreed upon April 20 th same location Spangles 54 and Boardway. Notes: Need to establish a location, submit an application. Equipment can be set up 36 hours before contest starts. You can set up at 9:00am Friday. Event starts at 1:00pm. Committee’s that need to be built with confidence: Food: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Smoked Ham- Chicken- Beef. Sides- Plates- Cups- Utensils. Water bottles, tea, pop, Crock pots and heat plates, rags, paper towels, Coolers, ice, and a large Donation Jar. Greeter: Welcome person- greets fellow Hams, the public and families. Also, can appoint helpers. Safety person: Ensures the safety of the group. (Power lines, barricades, ladders, guide lines and guide line markers, coax runs, power cord runs, doors, windows, cookers, generators and gas cans, parking lots, and delegating volunteer Hams and or non-Hams persons for assistance for the good of the order at this activity. Safety person must stay at location or be relieved by an appointed safety person. Set Up: Post an approved lay map of the grounds which may or may not be needed for the good of the order. Location of the Antenna’s and the diameter of the ? wave circle boundaries. Cords, generators/ Gas storage aera, coax, caution tape barriers. Tear down and clean up: Roll up cords, coax, caution tape, guide lines, guide line markers, tables, chairs, bathrooms, sweep floors and or mop the floors, dump trash wash dishes and place everything back the way it was found, inspect the rented grounds. Wait for landlords’ approval and hand over the keys. Stations GOATA: Goata is a station that is set up by licensed Hams for un-licensed people that are interested in the Ham Hobby and or a disaster environment. This station has to stay on location while Field Day is in operation. It can be turned on or off. HF station 20, 40, 80 etc. HF station 20, 40, 80, etc. Digital (FT8 etc.) Mobile units must be able to operate on the High Way. (no 40 ft mass or beam) The collective body for 2024 Field Day WARC Wichita Amateur Radio Club is looking to set up and maintaining 4 stations. Stations are called A=antenna. The title of the is Event (WARC) was mention only for a header. Other clubs and Hams are all welcome to attend the planning meeting and come and join the Field Day festivities. We (the collective group) so far are looking at A4 stations. I KF0BFU mobile would like to be one of the 4 stations if allowed. I was all ready told that this is exactly what Field day is all about. Be Prepared for an emergency. I would like to operate out of my Dodge 2001 single cab truck. It is a self-contained VHF transceiver 100 watts station with a mag mount antenna separate from the HF transceiver, 100 watts (bare foot) with a 4’ foot screw driver antenna. Which has 12 volt vehicle battery, 12 volt spare battery, with a 12 volt 10 amp battery charger with a small gas generator back up.
