Sorry for being the problem rather than the solution yesterday, Dan.?
My station was transmitting but it had no audio - thanks to a setting on the computer I fat fingered.
I bet your setup will work FB now. You will have enough signal to work VARA FM.

Well, I and my station hear you and respond. You are not real strong (S2-3) but audio is pretty good.

If you have the meter screen with VARA FM running you can check your radios receive level.
Open the squelch and adjust so the VU meter is about 1-2 O'Clock. That will be near perfect receive level.
Then do the calibrate.
May the force be with you

I get the blue no signal with any ping or the drive level calibrations. I hear the audio on the radio as static

Do you get the RX meter in VARA FM to the 1 O'clock position when squelch is open?
If not likely settings in the audio levels in windows.

I'd like to announce that the W0AYE-10 VaraFM gateway and W0AYE-4 digipeater is online and passing traffic. The gateway is currently at my QTH in Olivia for testing but will be moved to the Willmar area after I'm comfortable with it's performance.
The current frequency for both the gateway and digipeater is 145.690 no tone, no offset.
Antenna is a 4el yagi at 35' pointed NNE, but will get switched to an Omni directional vertical when the gateway gets moved. The gateway radio is a Yaesu ftm-6000 running 25 watts.
Anyone is welcome to connect and use both the gateway and digipeater.

Dan, not long after I posted AYE took his -10 station off.? later, I heard someone trying to calibrate.
I'll leave my station N0QBH on in P2P VARA FM this evening.
If it hears you, it should respond when you try calibrate or ping on 145.690
Hopefully, Ben will be back on, but if not, and you get it going, you can send an email to me in the P2P mode. If I'm up & see it I'll reply pronto.

Thanks, but seems like that is how I have the digirig set up already. I had done the drivers.
But nothing on the pings or auto tune yet. I'm hooked up to a Yaesu FTM-400. I can hear it transmit. I may try a 65 watt radio next.

W0AYE-10 is on as I type this. That's the gateway call sign.

Your VARA FM program running alone can do the setup.

Under settings / soundcard / autotune with W0AYE-10 to have it auto set the transmit levels.
If it's not transmitting check the PTT setting? under "settings". Default is VOX - you want serial.
You may need the driver from here?
to make the PTT active it the device manager shows no driver for that USB serial device
Also there's a "ping" via no body (because you are direct) to W0AYE-10
Good luck, it's worth it.
