Locked Van Norman 12 and VFDs

Guys I don't run VFDs as they are counter productive for my set up. I run a #12 VN and a model TL Hardinge.? With what I have I would need 4 VfDs or some sophistcated software to change my VFDs on the fly. The Hardinge has a double wound motor capable of either 3/8 or 3/4 hp at the flip of a switch. The #12 has both a 1/2 and a 1.5 hp motor. The smaller for table speed the larger for the spindle.? If you are going to use VFDs set them up for the correct Volts, horspower and frequency.
I you are worried about? overclocking your motor simply dial down the Hz.? If you are really worried? build your own 5 hp phase converter from a 5 hp 3 phase motor and a kit from Ebay or Amazon. 220 single phase in, 220 3 phase out . You can generally run up to 50% of the rated hp of the conveter motor.
I only run one machine at a time and my phase converter can handle the applied 2 hp of the mill at the correct Hz .
