VARA HF not connecting in excellent conditions

Hello,?
?since about Wednesday I seem to be unable to connect to any winlink RMS using VARA HF. I can hear the initial "CQ" packet (connection request or whatever it is), swift response from the RMS, then a longer FSK packet sent from my VARA, then some relatively short response from RMS and starting from that moment I can see and hear only my station repeating REQ (it flashes in VARA panel when it is being transmitted) and after about 5 retries the connection fails on timeout.
Is it possible to see in some debug mode what do actually the two stations talk about during the initial phase? Not knowing what is going on is frustrating.
I have tried a number of RMS on 40 and 80 meters, both in the afternoon and in the evening. Their signal is strong without QSB and in the headphones it sounds "normal".
?
Thank you,
Jindra

P.S. tested with OE3XEC, OE5XIR, DB0BES, SR3WLK, HB9AT on both 80m and 40m. The RMS is heard clearly and most of them respond immediately to the first buzz. Connection cannot be established, though. I also tried OE6XPR which uses the same frequency as DB0BES, 3600 KHz (maybe I am wrong, did not take notes, but I tried different RMS callsigns of RMS's sitting on 3600, there are about three or four in Central Europe).??
Interestingly, after unsuccessful attempt in VARA I switched to ARDOP and immediately completed a session with the same RMS that previously failed.

Propagation was rough for me on Tuesday and Wednesday (Western Hemisphere) when I was last playing radio, and I had a lot of difficulty connecting to a gateway with my QRP rig. Could this be your issue as well??

There was a solar storm I believe on Wednesday but that wouldn't affect VARA and not ARDOP.
?
Jindra did you check the Winlink Express log files for any issues?
?
I would also look at your sound levels to make sure are ok for use with VARA.
