I need help VARA FM. ?I have a Retevis RT25, connected to a Digirig mobile.? I have a gateway 5 miles away from me that I cannot get a ping response from ay 25 watts despite having a repeater 10 miles away that I hit with no problems.? The antenna is 39 feet above sea level.? At this point I'm considering the possibility of settings issues.? Could I have some help with this?

Do you have a separate hand-held, or other VHF / UHF FM radio, that you can use to monitor your transmit signal, while you try a VARA FM "Auto-Tune" session with the RMS gateway station?

The obvious questions are frequency, Vara configuration, operable RMS station.

Have you had a successful Vara connection before, maybe a different radio / different station?

Mark is spot on about being able to hear your own signal, sans that, what does your Vara dashboard tell you? I have always had an issue trying to use a Digirig and a HT, Digi seems to run hot on some models and you have to alter one of the pads on the board.

Do you know anyone else that can confirm the RMS is operational? They can also help confirm your signal is being transmitted.

Are there other Vara stations out there for you to try? If you know of other operators you can try to ping their Vara software directly with Winlink P2P or even just in a digipeater mode.
