With the QMX radio being so popular, but not yet having the SSB transmit feature released, Hams are using it with the first few VARA modes.? Those, as I understand are FSK modes.? When VARA sees a good signal has been received on the other end, it tries to upshift to a non-FSK mode, but then fails because the QMX can't produce it.

It would be nice, and hopefully easy to implement (famous words!) of setting a checkbox in the VARA settings to limit modes to transmitting FSK only.? It is quite capable of receiving any other SSB modes.? Slow upload, fast download.? That works well for Winlink catalog requests and such.

This would be greatly appreciated by users of the QDX as well.? i.e. Not capable of upgrading to SSB modes due to hardware constraints.

Correct me if I have my facts wrong.
