Does VARA work without WinLink?

Tadd KA2DEW in NC Member Profile All Messages By This Member #49 I'd be interested in trying VARA to link two G8BPQ nodes in MSWIndows.? Each station, so far, has a Raspberry PI and some plain old TNCs.? I'd like to use VARA on HF to do BBS message forwarding between two networks which are too far apart for VHF.? I'd be ok with having an MSWindows box to run VARA and then connect over Ethernet (or whatever it takes) to the Raspberry PI.? Is something we can do with VARA-MODEM?? ??
