Not much info to go on but the first thing would be…. does the red PTT light on the signalink come on when you attempt to transmit? ? If yes, check keying line pinout to the radio. ?If no, it is back in VARA.

Trying to setup VARA HF have a signalink I have tried all my audio settings it doesnt transmit to the signalink for some reason I have no problem with other mode such as Ardop and Winmore on winlink can some help with this. ?

You can download from that same page without using that service. He also has a VARA Chat program for keyboard to keyboard capabilities. Just be aware that when you connect with someone your radio (and his) will continually cycle every second until you type something or disconnect.

Anyway to download the new update by bypassing the mega page?, it shows the new update? but it shows download mega first, any other page to download? ...Also any frequencies on HF to make a keyboard to keyboard besides peer to peer on winlink?TNX POB/K8LEN

Hi John... I just installed it an hour ago.. Bands seem pretty bad here.. Ill try it out.. Ill also ask the Author about this behavior.?

Do you notice that the first connect packet begins with a new two-tone start?? Subsequent connect packets sound normal.? I just want to make sure that is a new 3.06 behavior and not something weird here.

I have been trying to connect to closer stations, but apparently I have been skipping over them.? I am now having much better success by targeting stations farther away.

VARA HF-modem with ARIM Messaging Program

 

Hello group,

I just wondered if it would be possible to use the ARIM Messaging Program with the VARA HF modem?
It appears that ARIM is more advanced than VARA Chat.

Ideas anyone?

Propagation is everything. There are lots of times that I can't connect anywhere. Your antenna setup will probably better dictate your a success too. When I can't connect on VARA I drop back to ARDOP. And usually can find some success. Don't be discouraged you're on the right track!

And when you do get a good VARA connection you'll be astonished!? LOL

I haven't been following this but have you changed the command port number to something different? I think it starts out at 8300 you might could try 8303 or some other number. You have to change it both in the winlink session settings and the Vera settings and restart everything.? A port conflict could cause a crash.

Did you have your computer connected to dual monitors at one time? ?You may have the Window for the Vara session offscreen. ?It’s there, but not accessible.

Change your resolution of the desktop in display settings and it should force it back.

VARA is a connected protocol.? You will only see traffic if you are connected to another station.
